II.1.4) Kurze Beschreibung: The main objective of LIFE Peat Restore is the reduction of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions by restoration of degraded peatlands in Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. In order to assess the climate effect of the restoration, (1.) the quantification of the baseline GHG dynamic of the project sites by using the GEST approach and (2.) the calculation of the GHG-emissions during the restoration measures also monitored by the GEST approach. To obtain actual values of GHG emissions of the project sites and to calibrate the GEST results, additional annual direct GHG measurements of the three main GHG, CO2, CH4 and N2O are necessary. It will be expected, that the tenderers work in close collaboration with the Estonian working group during the contract period. Contact information will be provided to the awarded tenderer.

Basic Requirements in order to obtain reliable results: — greenhouse gas flux rates should be calculated based on at least a linear regression, other approaches can also be used, but must be present in detail in the implementation concept, — GHG flux calculation should be performed according to the ideal gas law, other approaches can also be used, but must be present in detail in the implementation concept, — flux rates must be given in mg CH4, CO2, N2O per m2 and hour and also in g CH4, CO2, N2O per m2 and day for every measurement day and presented in a suitable form, — statistical data must be included, at least minimal, maximal values, means and standard deviation and presented in a suitable form, — for Estimation and Modelling of annual fluxes the application of common approaches will be expected, at least the determination of temperature — response functions (Reco) and light-response function (GPP) for every day of measurement are essential for further calculations, — results of modelled annual fluxes have to be given in t CH4, CO2, N2O per ha and year for every measurement period and presented in a suitable form, — all tenderers are invited to make suggestions for a suitable model to estimate annual fluxes in the different Partner Countries, that integrate different on site recorded parameters and also allow for temporal and spatial extrapolation, a detailed description has to be included in the implementation concept, — a close cooperation with the Estonian Partner team focused on the activities in this lot will be expected. Accuracy of GHG measurements. For GHG flux analysis it is important to use only low-noise fluxes, so at least a R2 of the regressions must be above 0,90 for CO2; 0,80 for CH4 and 0,80 for N2O. The Application of other more robust quality parameters are also welcome. For Modelling results we expect also the presentation of model goodness at least the denotation of the p-value together with the significance level. The Application of other more robust quality parameters are also welcome. Data collection of GHG emissions measurements: Each month data have to be saved in an external hard drive or another storage media. Reports of GHG flux rate calculation and modelling: The GHG flux rates and modelling results must be reported once a year until April 15th of each year and include the following information: 1. a detailed description of the used methodical approach for flux calculation and modelling; 2. suitable presentations of daily and annual fluxes of all different project sites, divided into specific Greenhouse Gases as a temporal progress and for CO2 we expect data presentation of the 3 separated fluxes (Reco, GPP and also the Net Ecosystem Exchange (NEE) as a result of the difference of GPP-Reco); 3. annexed to the report we expect a detailed overview of all flux data divided to the different sites, measurement days, Greenhouse Gases and information to the quality of the calculated data. Deliverables: The following deliverables are expected: 1. an annual report of GHG flux data and modelled annual emission data from all project sites; 2. a final report detailing all the activities performed under the contract II.2.5) Zuschlagskriterien Preis II.2.11) Angaben zu Optionen Optionen: nein II.2.13) Angaben zu Mitteln der Europäischen Union Der Auftrag steht in Verbindung mit einem Vorhaben und/oder Programm, das aus Mitteln der EU finanziert wird: ja Projektnummer oder -referenz: LIFE 15 CCM/DE/000138 II.2.14) Zusätzliche Angaben
